Indianapolis, IN – Denison Parking, an Indianapolis-based parking operator, announced that it will manage the initial parking operations at the 16 Tech Innovation District (16 Tech). Denison will use state-of-the-art License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology to manage parking for the District’s first tenants.

Located in downtown Indianapolis, 16 Tech is a 50-acre live-work-innovate community that brings together entrepreneurs, academics, startups, corporations and creatives in a single place designed to spark the exchange of ideas that leads to innovation. Construction is complete on 16 Tech’s first building, Innovation Building 1. HqO, the innovation hub located in the heart of the District, boasts private and flexible office space, artisan marketplace and makerspace, and will open 2021.

“16 Tech will help companies bridge the gap between an idea to an actual product or service. The innovations developed here will help accelerate Indiana’s reputation for being a place where organizations come to create and realize their vision,” said C. Perry Griffith, III, president of Denison Parking.

By using LPR technology, Denison Parking will efficiently monitor parking for 16 Tech’s first tenants without using hangtags, permit stickers or gates.

16 Tech adds nearly 150 parking spaces, as well as an additional 300 surface spaces in the near future, to Denison’s already large portfolio of on-street, off-street, valet, event, and consulting services. Additionally, a 1000-space garage is planned to anchor the District’s parking needs.
Denison Parking is the market leader for parking operations in central Indiana; maintaining over 42,000 parking spaces in Indianapolis and supporting many of central Indiana’s largest employers, biggest events, and new construction projects.

Denison Parking is one of the nation’s most experienced parking operators with over 80 years of experience. Denison is in a growth spurt – growing 25% year over year. Denison operates over 71,000 parking spaces in 11 states. Denison’s combined ownership of parking facilities as well as breadth of experience translates into a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities clients face in navigating the rapid changes impacting the parking industry.

However, experience does not equate to “parking as usual.” Denison is deeply focused on creating value for clients by exploring new ways to engage customers and partners while providing industry-leading transparency and accountability.

In addition, the long-standing family ownership creates a culture where everyone, from the employees, to customers and clients are treated like family.

That is the Denison difference. Experienced. Innovative. Personal.
