Job Summary

Denison is looking for a Senior Accountant who will lead all aspects of the accounting and maintenance of the general ledger for specific facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review general ledger journal entries and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with facility operations to ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial close.
• Prepare general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data and research unusual items.
• Prepare and review monthly balance sheet and income statement for completeness and accuracy and investigate variances.
• Maintain accounting procedures and ensure adherence to accounting policies and US GAAP.
• Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
• Develop expertise with corporate enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
• Work closely with external auditors on financial audits.
• Support VP, Finance and Controller in related tasks as part of the asset management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent required
• 2-3 years of validated experience in general accounting
• Property Management accounting experience, preferred
• Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Experience using ERP system, WorkDay a plus
• Outstanding digital literacy; expertise with Microsoft Excel
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
